Color Fragments is the first effort to archive color samples found outside of the studio materials. These archives were created by students enrolled in a Visual Studies course designed to illuminate the elusive nature of color, based on Josef Albers text Interaction of Color. The only instruction provided was to collect color samples in a sketchbook. Students were free to place and arrange at their own discretion.
